Did you know that God has a wonderful life planned for you? It’s a better life than you can imagine. It’s your Promised Land, where all your desires are fulfilled.

When God first created man, He placed him in Eden where life was Heaven on earth. Man had everything his heart desired. He lived in perfect harmony with his mate, enjoyed perfect health and he lacked for nothing. Adam and Eve had to leave Eden because they rebelled against God’s Word and would not repent. God never changes nor did His plan to have man live a heavenly life on earth, so He created another place that was similar to Eden that became known as “The Promised Land”. This place was similar to Eden in that it was a place where all one’s hearts desires would be fulfilled. The inhabitants of this land could have wonder-filled relationships with one another; it was a place where no one would be sick; and it was a place of abundant wealth.

The entire Bible is a story about a journey of God’s people finding and keeping their Promised Land, beginning with Abraham. In Genesis 12:1, when Abraham first gave his life to God, God said to him:

The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you.”

Once we truly surrender our lives to Him, He will tell us to leave our old way of life behind and we will begin a journey to our Promised Land.

As Abraham left everything behind and came to his Promised Land, he became very rich as we read in Genesis 13:2:

Abram had become very wealthy in livestock and in silver and gold.

Abraham and his nephew Lot recognized that the Promised Land was very similar to the garden of Eden, otherwise known as the garden of the LORD, as revealed in Genesis 13:10:

Lot looked up and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan was well watered, like the garden of the LORD…

This return to Eden was not just for Abraham, but is for all those who be like Abraham and follow God wherever He leads. This is what God meant when He said in Genesis 13:15:

All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever.

God wants ALL His people to have an “Eden-like” lifestyle. God confirmed this promise to Abraham’s son, Isaac (Genesis 26:4) and to his son, Jacob, (Genesis 28:13). Jacob took all his family members to Egypt where they stayed too long and became slaves. God eventually sent Moses to set the people free and lead them to their Promised Land, “a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey…” (Exodus 3:8).
In the 1st book of the Bible, God promised to give those who followed Him an Eden-like life. In books 2-5 is the story of the journey of God’s people to their Promised Land. The 6th book is about how God used Joshua to lead God’s people into the Promised Land. In Hebrew, Joshua’s name is Yehowshuwa,` which is the same name that JESUS had. In the Hebrew culture, a person’s name defined their purpose in life. It is JESUS’ purpose to lead God’s people into their Promised Land. If you make JESUS the Savior and LORD of your life, He will lead you to a place where all your heart’s desires will be fulfilled. He leads us through His Word each day. If you don’t follow where He leads, you will continue to experience frustration and emptiness all the days of your life.

Let me give you one example of what I mean. In Deuteronomy 6:10-11 we get an idea of what our Promised Land will be like:

10 When the LORD your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you—a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, 11 houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant…

Let’s look at that again because this is what Eden-like living is all about. God was going to give His people exciting cities to live in where everything around them was going to be prospering and flourishing. They were going to have beautiful homes (mansions) that they did not build. These huge homes were not going to be empty but “filled with all kinds of good things” that God’s people did not work for. There would be wells providing fresh, healthy water in a desert area that they did not dig, and just like in the garden of Eden, there would be “vineyards and olive groves you did not plant…”

God never changes and neither do His plans for His family. He still wants to give us an awesome life and He will if we will simply follow Him and believe Him for His best. Let me give you one quote from JESUS that has been slightly mistranslated. In John 14:2 JESUS proclaimed:

In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

The word used for “house” here in the Greek is “oikia”, which can mean either “house” or “property”. I believe JESUS was referring to God’s property, which is the Promised Land.

JESUS is telling you and I that He has already been to our Promised Land where He has mansions built with our name on it. He is saying that if this were some kind of fairy tale, He would have told us so. This is NOT talking about the life in the hereafter, but in the here and now. Do you have the faith to believe for this???

Joyce Meyer believed for her mansion and got it, so did Kenneth Copeland and Creflo Dollar and Fredrick Price and many others. They got their mansions by helping others get to their Promised Land and that’s the only way you are going to get to your Promised Land. You can’t get there by yourself. Everyone who got to the Promised Land did so by following someone else and by having others following them. THERE IS NO OTHER WAY.
